Anja Bartels is the founder and director of Northern Lights IP and has over 10 years’ experience in the field of intellectual property. She is an experienced patent and trade mark attorney for Australia and New Zealand.
Anja has been involved in protecting ideas and advising clients in a variety of IP aspects. Her main skill set includes the writing of patents and the protection of brands, such as business names and logos. She also provides strategic and commercialisation advice and helps her clients map out their competitor and technology landscape.

Furthermore, Anja holds a Master in Science (Physics) from the University of Hamburg in Germany.
Because of her technical background in physics, Anja operates in a broad range of technical fields. These include computer and software, construction and mining, renewable energy, and medtech. Most of all, Anja is passionate about technology and loves helping her clients protect their IP.
